The Village Community Presbyterian Church is committed to sharing Christ's love and compassion in San Diego and throughout the world. Through hands-on mission projects and support of numerous other Christian agencies, the people of The Village Church in North County San Diego strive to put their faith into action.

Out of the ministries we support, each year our Missions Commission identifies six core missions that we support most actively and that provide opportunities for hands-on involvement. Currently these are (in alphabetical order):
AMOR MINISTRIES
Location: MEXICO, SOUTH AFRICA, SAN CARLOS APACHE RESERVATION
Website: www.amor.org
Summary: Jesus calls us to a continuous life of service. Therefore, we choose to serve with love. Join Amor Ministries in our efforts to change the world, one family at a time. Since 1980, Amor's mission has remained the same. God has called us to build his Church. We do that by responding to the spiritual and physical poverty in the world by empowering groups and individuals to participate in an Amor Mission Trip, a house building mission trip.
Our very name means love. We choose to show God's love through simple, tangible acts of service. Amor demonstrates to the poor the same grace we have all received through Jesus.
We are committed to be like Christ as we:
- Provide educational and mission experiences that radically change people.
- Eradicate spiritual and physical poverty.
- Impact the future of the church.
As we carry out this mission, we realize that building a house doesn't just provide shelter. It's a step toward Jesus and obedience to the one thing he asked us to build. HIS CHURCH.
PLANT WITH PURPOSE, formerly named FLORESTA
Location: NORTH AMERICA,
CENTRAL AMERICA, AFRICA, ASIA
Website: www.plantwithpurpose.org
Summary: By reversing deforestation, Plant With Purpose helps the poor restore productivity to their land to create economic opportunity out of environmental restoration. Since 1984 we have helped more than 100,000 people in some 230 villages lift themselves out of poverty through our holistic approach to sustainable development.
Friends of Los Niños and
The Los Angelitos Orphanage
Location: Tijunana, Mexico - NORTH AMERICA
Website: www.losangelitos.org
Summary: Our ministry in Tijuana has two main components:
1. Friends of Los Niños is a ministry providing food, clothing, and other support to several Christian orphanages just over the border in Tijuana, Mexico.
2. The Village Church has forged a special relationship with one of these orphanages, Los Angelitos, which is home to approximately thirty children, primarily girls. Several times each year we plan day-long trips to Los Angelitos to spend time with the children and to help with light maintenance or other needs. In the summer of 2005, the Village Church began serving as a conduit for those who wished to sponsor children at Los Angelitos.
HOPE Unlimited
Location: Campinas and Vittoria, Brazil
SOUTH AMERICA
Website: www.hopeunlimited.org
Summary: Hope Unlimited is a ministry to children and youth in Brazil, where an estimated five to ten million children are in poverty and live on the streets. Through Christian discipleship, housing, education, character development and job-training, Hope Unlimited helps former street children discover new life and have hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Presbyterian Urban Ministries
Location: San Diego, CA – USA
Website: www.pumsd.org
Summary: Located in the heart of San Diego, PUM offers emergency and employment assistance to individuals and families living at or below the poverty level in the form of food, clothing, transportation, obtaining required employment paperwork, access to job-search tools and counseling. Prayer is offered and shared throughout each day.
Project Kenya
Location: Kenya – AFRICA
Website: www.theoutreachfoundation.org
Summary: The Village Church’s work in Kenya has two main components:
1. The Elma Center Children's Home, previously name Cheppema, located near Eldama Ravine, provides a Christian home and education for approximately 70 orphaned children. Elma Center includes dormitories and a primary school. Past work trips to Elma Center have involved light construction and repair as well as interaction with the children. In addition to budgeted monetary support of Elma Center , a scholarship fund has been established through a private donation to help provide for secondary-school and college education for the children.
2. We support numerous church and school construction projects in partnership with the Presbyterian Church of East Africa and the Outreach Foundation of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Four new churches were built in 2004-2005, and twenty new churches were built in 2006. One of these churches is stone with seating for up to 1000; the remaining churches seat 200-300. At the end of 2009 we began to raise funds for schools that are to be built next to the churches. In the summer 2010 we will work along side members of the Pwani Presbytery to build these schools.
