In gratitude to God for His grace in Jesus Christ, the music ministry of the Village Church seeks to bring honor to our Lord by harnessing the tremendous power of music to move us, inspire us, and draw us closer to His presence. With its longstanding commitment to excellence in traditional-style worship, and dedication to a contemporary expression of worship, the Village Church encourages and supports musicians in a variety of ensembles in order to serve our congregation and our community as we grow together in Christ.
The Village Church Chancel ChoirThe Village Church has long been known as a singing church, and the choral music program here is integral to the life of our congregation. Our chancel choir is a wonderfully diverse group of musicians from high school age on up who love to sing! The camaraderie and community formed within this choir is supportive, inspiring and fun, and our focus is not only musical teamwork and choral excellence, but on personal and spiritual growth. The choir rehearses each Thursday from 7:30–9:00 p.m. and leads worship each week in repertoire ranging from the Renaissance through the present, from motets and traditional choral anthems to gospel tunes and spirituals. All are welcome to sing!
The Village Church Contemporary BandSunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. is casual dress and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. You’ll hear and sing along with modern worship music (Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, Lincoln Brewster) and new arrangements of classic hymns, led by one of the best worship bands in San Diego. There’s always a lively story time focused on kids, moments for quiet and corporate prayer, and a Christ centered Biblical message.
The Village Church Children's Choir
The Village Church Choir program is FREE and open to all in the community, regardless of church affiliation. We have many children from other churches that don't have a choir program, and there is only a once-a-month Sunday commitment (one service at 10:30 a.m.).
We have choirs for 3-years through High School, and all the groups are on Thursday evening with dinner provided. We perform 3 musicals a year (Christmas Eve pageant, spring musical, and summer music camp), participate in choir festivals, tours and trips including outreach performances at nursing homes and the soup kitchen.
Cherub Choir (age 3 through first grade): Meets on Thursday 5:15-5:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Center Room E/F. Dinner will be at 6:00 p.m. Highlights include: Christmas Eve pageant, nursing home visits, spring musical.
Junior Choir (2nd -5th grade): Meets on Thursday 6:00-6:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Center Room A. Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. Highlights include: Christmas Eve pageant, nursing home visits, Spring all-county choir festival, Spring musical.
CrossWinds Youth Choir (6h grade and up): Meets on Thursdays 6:45-7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Center Room A. Dinner will be at 6:00 p.m. Highlights include: Christmas Eve pageant, nursing home visits, Spring all-county choir festival, Spring musical, National YouthCue Choir Festival in June, Soup Kitchen outreach.

The Village Ringers
For sheer purity and beauty of tone, nothing compares with the joyful sounds of The Village Church Ringers – our devoted and gifted bell choir. The Ringers produce a truly golden sound for our congregation's worship and welcome any and all interested in ringing, from beginner to advanced (age 6th grade on up). They rehearse Tuesday evenings from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Reading musical notation is a help but not a requirement. Ringing is a wonderful way for "newbies" to the music program to get started in musical expression and praise!
