The Village Community Presbyterian Church of Rancho Santa Fe, maintains a vigorous music program for the congregation and community of North County San Diego. Central to the philosophy and approach of those who minister in this area is the dictum, "Christians sing not because they CAN, but because they MUST." The morning service at 10:30 a.m., the style of music is middle-of-the-road Protestant with frequent excursions to the more liturgical on one side and contemporary.
During the past three years the choir has grown from 13 to the present membership of 58. We have music and equipment for a complement of 60 singers. Members of the choir are enthusiastically committed to the development and maintenance of a music ministry of excellence to complement the strong pulpit ministry of this great church. Choir members have a strong commitment to both the church and to each other which is familial in character.
The Village Church ContemporaryPraise Team
On Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m., piano, guitar, bass, and percussion provide the accompaniment for our vocal team. Drawing from Christian contemporary music and praise songs, as well as classic hymns presented in a new format, the goal of our evening Praise Team is to lead God's people in expressing our praise and prayer through song. The Village Church Children's Choir
This children's choir (grades 2-6) is fast becoming one of the highlights of the music program. Under the direction of Katy Lundeen. In addition to the annual Christmas Pageant and Spring Musical, they appear regularly in the worship services of the church. The Village Ringers
The Village Church has just received as a gift a 4 octave set of Malmark ToneBells. These complement the 4 octave set of Schulmerich Handbells already in use. The Village Ringers rehearse each Thursday from 6:30-7:30 PM under the capable direction of Marianne Schwartz and perform regularly in the worship services of the church.
