As a pillar in early childhood education in the community for nearly 49 years, the Village Church Nursery School invited the public to attend our “Open House” on Tuesday, February 9th. Families were welcomed by parents of children who currently attend the school as well as the Director, Pamela Miller. Guests discovered 6 classroom environments that reflect the lives of those children and teachers who live in the beautiful spaces each day. Not only were the educational materials used by the children displayed but detailed documentation of the children’s meaningful and important work and photographs of on going in-depth study projects.
The teachers at "The Village” embrace the “Whole Child” so every area of a child’s development is addressed, nurtured and supported equally. Also available for view were photos of children engaged in thought provoking experiences that challenges each child to explore, discover and socialize. As educators our endeavor is to take those “ordinary moments” and transform them into extraordinary learning opportunities!
Some of "The Village” children are second generation attendees and may even boast of having the same teacher their parents had. The longevity of the staff is just another reason the Village Nursery School has provided and continues to provide the highest quality enrichment preschool program available.
As part of the “Open House” families had the opportunity be greeted by Senior Pastor Jack Baca of The Village Presbyterian Community Church and attend a presentation from Pamela Miller, the director, Monica Conway, the music teacher and Sandy Murphy the Parent/Toddler facilitator. Refreshments were served as well as additional documentation, children’s art work and photographs to offer “A Peek At Our Day”.
