VILLAGE CHURCH TRADITIONAL WORSHIP
The Village Church Choir

The Village Church Chancel Choir

“Christians sing not because they CAN, but because they MUST.”  The members of The Village Church Chancel Choir have taken this motto to heart. With about 50 members (and room for more!), the Chancel Choir anchors the music ministry at the 10:30 a.m. traditional service. With music ranging from spirituals at one end of the spectrum to selections as challenging as the Handel’s Messiah and Fauré’s Requiem at the other, the Chancel Choir singers raise their voices joyfully every Sunday throughout the year in praise of the Lord. In addition to leading music for Sunday worship, the Chancel Choir presents several major works throughout the year, including an Advent season concert and an Easter concert.

The Chancel Choir is always interested in welcoming new members to the choir family. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 7:30  to 9:00 p.m. from September through the end of June. During the summer months, the choir rehearsal schedule requires less commitment, and summer is a wonderful time to come sit in with the choir and join the voices raised in song! Just come to the choir rehearsal room any Sunday during July or August at about 9:45 a.m. The choir family is always looking to welcome new members!

The Village Church Chancel Choir welcomes a new conductor! She is Helen Westerfield, and she brings to The Village Church extensive conducting experience from several of our nation’s leading Presbyterian churches, as well as a heart for Christ and for worship.
