As I step into the position of Interim Church Administrator at the end of the year, I see great anticipation in the leadership of church as the congregation prepares to grow into a new vision with great opportunities to reach out with the good news of Christ in the community. It is clear that the staff and the Building Committee have been hard at work clearing the way into a new chapter for The Village Church. Plans are being put in place to start construction in 2008 on the new Sanctuary, administrative offices, music facility, classroom building and playground. Contracts were awarded in December to dismantle, refurbish and reinstall the organ in the new Sanctuary. The bidding process is well under way for award of the construction contract. Approximately 47 trades will be involved in transforming our campus into a new creation starting in early 2008.
Contributions to Our Blessed To Be A Blessing capital campaign exceeded $5,000,000 at the end of the year. The second year of the campaign ends in February 2008. Giving to the campaign continues to be strong.
Our administrative and custodial staff continues to provide strong support in all areas of ministry. They provide essential support systems to other ministries to help make them effective in the Lord’s work.
As you read this report, I hope you can see God in the midst of the apparent disruption of construction. We are indeed blessed . . . to be a blessing . . . to others. It is a great blessing to see how God is working in the hearts of His people at The Village Church.
Respectfully submitted,
Les Armstrong, Interim Church Administrator
