The Communications Commission supports effective communications involving the congregation, the Pastoral Staff, and the supporting leadership. This has been done in a number of ways.

There has been a transition from the Good News as a printed monthly copy to a monthly email version. In the future it will appear in the form of quarterly issues which will concentrate on historical and inspirational articles, with Laura Metzger continuing as editor. Articles which involve the weekly schedule of activities will now appear on the website in the form of copies of the Abundant Living.

Other communication in the past year has gone out as congregational emails through the use of email marketing software which is used to distribute the Good News in electronic format as well as email reminders to members of various Bible study groups. This software received a vigorous test during the wildfires when messages from the pastors involved in the church's response were sent to members of the congregation.

The website at www.villagechurch.org continues as a means of communication of the activities of the church, such as the weekly bulletins. Sermons are available in printed form as well as mp3 audio files and podcasts.

We have also continued advertising in the Rancho Santa Fe Review to highlight specific events to make the broader community more aware of appealing activities. We are continuing to seek other methods of communication to our members and the surrounding community.
