The Village Church Nursery School had a grand 2007 school year. Our strong, seasoned and diligent teaching staff remains unchanged. This is because:
1.We have worked very hard and continue to work to provide descent pay and benefits for the school staff.
2.The school is strictly an enrichment program, which means we do not provide day care with long laborious hours for both children and teachers. Therefore, the pleasant atmosphere makes for a delightful workplace!
3.The school environment i.e. buildings, classrooms, outdoor grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The school staff is grateful for such an aesthetically pleasing work environment.
In the summer of 2007 the church had Room 10 split making 2 classrooms, Room 10 A and B. The school vacated room 2 and moved to Room 10-B. Our very popular Parent/Toddler program meets in Room 10-A. Due to this room split we did have to reduce our Parent/Toddler program from 14 per class to 9 per class. This did have a significant impact on our budget. We remain hopeful after the construction is complete we will be able to return to the large Room 10.
Our chapel and devotional program developed by one of our teachers, Gretchen Pearson, continues to bless the children and teachers. It takes great balance to provide a spiritual program for preschool age children that is age appropriate, yet speaks to a preschooler “where they live” so the lesson is relevant to them. Gretchen is to be commended.
Again, it is an honor and privilege to serve the church, teachers and our nursery school families. I look forward to another remarkable year at the “Village”.
